Meeting #2 Notes 12/12/08

2nd Meeting Notes: 12/12/08:

Next Meeting: Saturday 1/24 at 12:30

~We’re going to have a short meeting and then paint the ceiling of the new teen’s center.

Redecorating:

~ paint the ceiling next meeting.

~decide on paint for walls

~we have to wait for the shelves to be installed before we paint the walls.

~carpet is going to be decided on once we know what color the walls will be.

Blog:

~granbyteens.wordpress.com

~send book reviews to Spencer or Janice to put on the blog

~the blog is only for book reviews and teen programs

~could everyone get google docs accounts?

Programs:

~ writing group on hold due to busy schedules:

-people interested: Steve, Amanda, Emily, Nadia, Bree and Spencer

~ possible website for teen writing and maybe art work (Amanda is looking into it)

~ to raise money:

– valentine raffle (we’re going to try to sell chocolate and other candy)

– season and holiday baskets

-bake sale

-jewelery sale

Books:

~ Janice ordered the books we suggested at the last meeting- keep the suggestions

coming!

~ TAB members are encouraged to visit Teenreads.com and join their e-mail monthly newsletter. This is a great site with new books, reviews, lists, polls…

Thanks everyone for a great meeting! Some wonderful members/bakers brought holiday cookies in for the group. Librarian Janice McArdle presented the TAB group with a personal donation of 5 new teen hardcover books and a big tin of popcorns to munch on at meetings.
